DAKAR 2026 Youth Olympic

The Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games will be held from 31 October to mid-November, marking the first Olympic event ever hosted in Africa. The Games will take place across three zones—Dakar, Diamniadio, and Saly—and feature 25 competition sports alongside 10 engagement sports. It will be the first Youth Olympic Games to achieve full gender equality across all events. Under the theme “Africa welcomes, Dakar celebrates,” the event aims to showcase Senegalese culture and inspire youth across the continent. Legacy programs include education initiatives reaching hundreds of thousands of students and the debut of a Youth Refugee Olympic Team.
