Athletics and Para Athletics at the 2026 Commonwealth Games will take place over the full duration of the Games, from 23 July to 2 August 2026, at Scotstoun Stadium in Glasgow, Scotland. As one of the central sports of Glasgow 2026, the competition will feature a comprehensive track and field program including sprints, middle- and long-distance races, relays, hurdles, jumps, throws, and combined events, alongside fully integrated Para Athletics disciplines. The 2026 Commonwealth Games follows a compact and sustainable model, featuring 10 core sports: Athletics, Swimming, Track Cycling, Gymnastics, Netball, Weightlifting, Boxing, Judo, Bowls, and 3x3 Basketball. Approximately 3,000 athletes from up to 74 Commonwealth nations and territories are expected to compete. Athletics will play a key role in medal standings and is traditionally one of the most anticipated events of the Games.
